The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because the Lord has appointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to announce that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed (Isaiah 61:1)
Lying in bed, I reflect back on the day
Feeding the hungry – delivering food to a refugee camp
Setting the captives free – 40 salvations in one morning
Healing the sick – the blind see and aches disappear
Clothing the naked – buying clothes for orphans
Healing the brokenhearted – praying for restoration of the heart
This is the life Jesus lived. This is the life we get to live. This is the life we are all called to live. We are called to be so in love with Christ that we will follow Him anywhere, at any time, doing anything.
Living sacrifices – hearts, minds, bodies, soul, spirit, strength. Total surrenderto the point of death. That is when we become fully alive in Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me (Gal. 2:20).
With that life comes total authority and power in and through Christ. In Christ alone the hungry are fed, the chains are broken, the naked are clothed, the broken-hearted are restored, the sick are healed. In His sovereignty and our freedom, He chooses to use us!
What am I doing with my freedom? What are you doing with your freedom?
