By Harold Vance
What hood is this,
That fits so well?
Not of cloth
Or fiber strong,
But woven tight
With Abba’s love.
Tis not a cloak
Hiding me away,
Nor something impenetrable
To keep elements at bay.
But this hood
That fits so well,
Keeps me fit
And strong enough to deal
With obstacles and enemies,
With moral impediments
And temptation’s siege,
And never lets these things
Out-number me,
Strong and real as they may be.
Tis the hood that brothers wear
That is so strong
And fits so fair,
For a weakened boy
I may be on my own,
But mighty men we are
When unity in Christ is known.
